We are committed to witnessing in faith to the Church’s belief in the resurrection of the body, her traditions and practices and the corporal work of mercy which call us to a profound reverence for the bodies which were once temples of the Holy Spirit.
Reminding ourselves that during our Baptism we are baptized into the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection – thus giving us the promise of eternal life. When one of our loved ones die, we take them to a sacred place, a Catholic cemetery, for burial in sacred ground while they await the resurrection of the dead and the promise of eternal life. To show that the burial in a Catholic cemetery is our visible statement of continued belief in everlasting life, even in death.
In the Diocese of Springfield we are blessed to own and operate a several Catholic cemeteries according to faith beliefs and principles.
